{"id":2529,"date":"2018-08-19T03:59:17","date_gmt":"2018-08-19T07:59:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.letterofcredit.biz\/?p=2529"},"modified":"2019-04-07T01:54:51","modified_gmt":"2019-04-07T05:54:51","slug":"field-39a-percentage-credit-amount-tolerance","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.letterofcredit.biz\/index.php\/2018\/08\/19\/field-39a-percentage-credit-amount-tolerance\/","title":{"rendered":"Field 39A: Percentage Credit Amount Tolerance"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>What is Field 39A: Percentage Credit Amount Tolerance?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Field 39A: Percentage Credit Amount Tolerance is a field in MT 700 swift message type that is used to specify the tolerance relative to the documentary credit amount as a percentage plus and\/or minus that amount.<\/p>\n<p>This is an optional field.<\/p>\n<p>The words &#8220;about&#8221; or &#8220;approximately&#8221; used in connection with the amount of the credit or the quantity or the unit price stated in the credit are to be construed as allowing a tolerance not to exceed 10% more or 10% less than the amount, the quantity or the unit price to which they refer.<\/p>\n<p>A tolerance not to exceed 5% more or 5% less than the quantity of the goods is allowed, provided the credit does not state the quantity in terms of a stipulated number of packing units or individual items and the total amount of the drawings does not exceed the amount of the credit.<\/p>\n<p>Even when partial shipments are not allowed, a tolerance not to exceed 5% less than the amount of the credit is allowed, provided that the quantity of the goods, if stated in the credit, is shipped in full and a unit price, if stated in the credit, is not reduced or that sub-article 30 (b) is not applicable. This tolerance does not apply when the credit stipulates a specific tolerance or uses the expressions referred to in sub-article 30 (a).<\/p>\n<p><strong>MT 700<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Field 39A: Percentage Credit Amount Tolerance:<\/strong><br \/>\nThis field specifies the tolerance relative to the documentary credit amount as a percentage plus and\/or minus that amount.<\/p>\n<p>FORMAT (Tolerance 1)(Tolerance 2)<br \/>\nTolerance 1 specifies a positive tolerance, the Tolerance 2 specifies a negative tolerance<\/p>\n<p>Note : Either field 39A or 39B, but not both, may be present.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What is Field 39A: Percentage Credit Amount Tolerance?
