It is used to determine<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>whether shipment made on time or not (in other words a late shipment has been effected or not)<\/li>\n<li>whether documents presented within the presentation period or not (in other words a late presentation has been effected or not)<\/li>\n<li>maturity date of the time draft<\/li>\n<li>maturity date of a deferred payment letter of credit.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Date of shipment can be determined in two ways on a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.letterofcredit.biz\/index.php\/2018\/04\/04\/sea-waybill-non-negotiable-bill-of-lading\/\">Non-Negotiable Sea Waybill<\/a>.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In the first scenario we will face a situation where Non-Negotiable Sea Waybill does not contain any date of shipped on board notation.<\/li>\n<li>In the second scenario we will be having a Non-Negotiable Sea Waybill which contains a dated shipped on board notation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">Option 1 =&gt;<\/span> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">No shipped on board notation exists on the Non-Negotiable Sea Waybill:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The date of issuance of the Non-Negotiable Sea Waybill will be deemed to be the date of shipment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">Option 2=&gt; <\/span><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Non-Negotiable Sea Waybill indicates, by stamp or notation, a date of shipped on board: <\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Date of shipped on board notation\/stamp =&gt; this date will be deemed to be the date of shipment<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Example:<\/strong> On the below figure you can see a shipped on board notation which is located on the bottom of a Non-Negotiable Sea Waybill.<\/p>\n<p>As there is a dated on board notation exists on the Non-Negotiable Sea Waybill, date of shipment will be deemed to be this shipped on board notation date which is 30.December.2012.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5130\" src=\"https:\/\/www.letterofcredit.biz\/wp-content\/uploads\/shipped-on-board-date.png\" alt=\"date of shipment on sea waybill\" width=\"613\" height=\"182\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.letterofcredit.biz\/wp-content\/uploads\/shipped-on-board-date.png 613w, https:\/\/www.letterofcredit.biz\/wp-content\/uploads\/shipped-on-board-date-300x89.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 613px) 100vw, 613px\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Date of shipment is one of the key definitions in a letter of credit transaction.
