I would like to thank him once again for this great question.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #339966;\"><strong>Question:<\/strong><\/span> I have an L\/C as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>43P: Partial Shipment: Allowed<\/li>\n<li>43T: Transshipment: is not Allowed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I shipped the goods in 5 container as below. Which means that I had submit 2 B\/L s for the same L\/C. Please keep in mind that all other details will be the same.<\/p>\n<p>Can I know is it allowed to submit 2 B\/L for my L\/C.<\/p>\n<p>Thanking you.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>2 container in one vessel on 11\/02\/2014<\/li>\n<li>3 container in another trip on 18.02\/2014<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #339966;\"><strong>Answer:<\/strong><\/span> First of all, we need to determine that the shipment, which is effected as indicated above, could be accepted as a partial shipment or not.<\/p>\n<p>UCP 600 article 31 states that a presentation consisting of one or more sets of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.letterofcredit.biz\/index.php\/2018\/03\/12\/letter-of-credit-documents\/\">transport documents<\/a> evidencing shipment on more than one <a href=\"https:\/\/www.letterofcredit.biz\/index.php\/2018\/06\/11\/means-of-conveyance-and-mode-of-transport\/\">means of conveyance<\/a> within the same <a href=\"https:\/\/www.letterofcredit.biz\/index.php\/2018\/06\/11\/means-of-conveyance-and-mode-of-transport\/\">mode of transport<\/a> will be regarded as covering a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.letterofcredit.biz\/index.php\/2018\/06\/26\/what-is-a-partial-shipment\/\">partial shipment<\/a>, even if the means of conveyance leave on the same day for the same destination.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5170\" src=\"https:\/\/www.letterofcredit.biz\/wp-content\/uploads\/partial-shipment-letter-of-credit.jpg\" alt=\"partial shipment letter of credit\" width=\"517\" height=\"372\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.letterofcredit.biz\/wp-content\/uploads\/partial-shipment-letter-of-credit.jpg 517w, https:\/\/www.letterofcredit.biz\/wp-content\/uploads\/partial-shipment-letter-of-credit-300x216.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 517px) 100vw, 517px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>As indicated in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.letterofcredit.biz\/index.php\/2018\/10\/19\/ucp-600\/\">UCP 600<\/a> if more than one means of conveyance has been affected under one letter of credit presentation this will be regarded as a partial shipment.<\/p>\n<p>We understand from Amer\u2019s explanations that he has been used two means of conveyance on his shipments. He has loaded two containers to vessel A on 11.February.2014 and remaining 3 containers to Vessel B on 18.February.2014.<\/p>\n<p>After determining that partial shipment has been effected on this presentation, we need to look at the letter of credit text in order to understand, whether <a href=\"https:\/\/www.letterofcredit.biz\/index.php\/2018\/09\/19\/field-43p-partial-shipments\/\">partial shipment was allowed or not<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Again, we can see from Amer\u2019s information that partial shipment is allowed under respected documentary credit.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>Conclusion:<\/strong><\/span> Partial shipment has been effected on these shipments and letter of credit allows partial shipments. As a result, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.letterofcredit.biz\/index.php\/2018\/08\/18\/field-59-beneficiary\/\">beneficiary<\/a> can submit two sets of bills of lading under the same presentation without any problem.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Amer from Ajman (United Arab Emirates (UAE)) asks this question.
